iPhone 5 to use Exynos quad-core processor architecture

Most of the speculation surrounding the iPhone 5 has been focused on the exterior of the smartphone. More specifically, it is expected Apple will increase the size of the touchscreen display to around 4-inches, which in turn could mean a larger handset, or a phone with a very thin bezel around the larger display.

Apple pays $60 million to keep the iPad on shelves in China

Apple has been fighting a long battle with Chinese company Proview over the right to use the name “iPad” in China. The issue stems from the sale of the iPad name copyright to Apple in 2009 for $54,000. The sale was handled by UK company IP Application Development on behalf of Proview Taiwan, but parent company Proview Technology deemed the sale invalid, and therefore claims it still owns the copyright to the name.

Google pays Apple $1 billion to be search default

It seemed like an impressive win for Mozilla when the new three-year, $900 million deal with Google was announced. The Foundation derives the bulk of its funding from that search deal and in return Google gets billions of search hits. But that deal may pale in comparison to what Google pays Apple.

According to one analyst, they could be coughing up as much as $1 billion to be the default search engine in Safari on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac systems. Google has been slowly moving into digital content distribution services for a little over a year now.
